1. Flogging Molly - Life in a Tenement Square. Aha! I knew I had that mp3 somewhere. And since I'm uploading things, okay, actually I just had to make a post to [livejournal.com profile] teh_music, but I figured I'd share the links here too go ahead and have Johnny Cash covering Personal Jesus.

2. Maturity (Konoe, G) for [livejournal.com profile] fuda_100's Aging challenge. As I was saving this drabble to the word file I keep all my drabbles in, I checked the date to add to it and realized something: it's been over three months since I last wrote anything for [livejournal.com profile] fuda_100. That seems so wrong.

But, since I have the next two weeks of my 597 class(597's are current issues classes; everyone is required to take one, though they tend to be pointless and simplistic) to zone out, while people give presentations, I should have plenty of time to write others.

3. Today I was walking along the sidewalk and noticed a fallen branch. I went to kick it out of my way, and somehow got the sharp end of the stick shoved up underneath my toenail, and then bled all the way home. I swear to god that I get injuries that no one else in the world has ever managed.

4. Dasani was handing out their new Raspberry waters today. It's actually pretty good, and I usually don't like flavored water.

I think that fufills my part in the "we give you free stuff, and you advertise for us" deal.

5. [livejournal.com profile] eliade describes the muse. Hee.

6. Is there anywhere left to download the first Saiyuki anime, or am I going to have to get the DVDs?

7. I'm all out of allergy medicine, and the presciption has expired, so I can't get more until I make an appointment to see the doctor. This is going to do wonders for my motivation in getting up in the morning.

8. I participated in a survey a few months ago; I got a chance to read the thesis it turned into yesterday.

...I sound like a sugar-high Valley girl. Jesus Christ. I know it's anonymous and all, but couldn't he have edited out all the ums and uhs and likes? My bad speaking habits are now preserved for all time.

Hey, here's a trick that sometimes works: If the prescription was filled at the kind of pharmacy that has a computer and an automated prescription-refill-request system, and if you put in the refill request despite the expiration, the pharmacy will often call the doctor's office to get an authorization to do the refill anyway. This takes a few extra days, but that may be less time than it would take to get in to see the doctor, especially for a routine scrip.

(Yes, I have spent way too much time in the system.)

Of course, this may not work where you are. But it took me a while to figure it out, rule-abiding girl that I tend to be, so I thought I'd pass it along just in case.

I tried that, actually. But this specific allergist wants all of his patients to come in every year, regardless of symptoms. I'd already been cheating his system by refilling my prescription more often last year than I was supposed to, but I didn't do it quite often enough to get me everything I'd need to last through this season, unfortunately.

Which I suppose is a lesson about obeying the rules in the first place, but I'm more likely to just buy some nonpresciption stuff or go home and steal my dad's.

I have all eps of the first Saiyuki anime fansubbed. I could send them to you if you like.

If you want the Saiyuki pro release, they've just started rereleasing the whole series in a two-for-one format. They call it the 'Double Barrel' version; it halves the price and necessary storage space. Best Buy has the first two packages for twenty bucks apiece, and the volume five-six package should come out next week.

Wow, thank you! That'll be much cheaper when I do buy them. Which I do intend to do, because it always makes me feel a bit guilty to not give anything to the creators of my current fandoms. It's just that there so many episodes of Saiyuki, and DVDs are so expensive, and, well, I want to see them now instead of waiting to collect them all. *laughs*

That's so generous! Are you sure? I know there's a lot of them, and I'd hate to put you to trouble. Thank you so much for even offering, though.

I can put them on a couple of dvds - do you have a dvd player in your computer, and which format(s) can it read? Plus, minus, something else?

If you want to take this off LJ, my email addy is me_n_thee at onetel dot com.

My computer can't play DVDs, unfortunately, though I do have a regular DVD player hooked up to the TV, and I've got all sorts of programs on my computer to read files: Windows Media, Realplayer, Quicktime, DivX, and Winamp.

Again, I am so grateful that you would offer, so don't put yourself to any trouble, if it would be a hassle.

The files are in .avi format, meaning you can play them with WMP and DivX, but (afaik) you wouldn't be able to play them on a regular dvd player.

There are 50 of them. If you can't play dvds in your computer, I can put them on CDs, but at 3 per CD that'll come to 17 CDs. Not a problem, but in that case I'd ask you for cost of materials (not that high; a CD is something like 30p here) and postage Scotland to US (likely to be higher, since that stuff is heavy).

Let me know. :-)

Sorry for the delay in replying- three day weekend here, and I went home for a while.

Anyway, it turned out to be a bit lucky that I was procrastinating, because someone just offered me up a way to download them all without having to worrying about shipping and burning! Regardless, I appreciate it more than I can say that you offered; I'm really touched. Thank you again!
