1. Ate sushi. Mmmm, rawfish.

2. Got inexplicably bored with every one of my icons and switched them out for different ones.

3. Read hundreds of pages on the influence of technology on the culture and philosophy of the modern age.

4. Saw Bride and Prejudice. Hee. "As Gloria Estefan says, 'The rhythm is going to get you'."

5. Realized that the henna tattoo I had on the back of my hand, which finally faded away a few days ago, left a tan line.

6. Did laundry. Now have clothes to wear. Yay!

7. Cooked chili. Still working on this one, actually. The beans needed way longer to soak than I realized.

8. Debated the eternal dilemma of whether to sit inside the coffeeshop or out on the patio. Patio's Pros: Sunshine! Patio's Cons: I can not actually see my laptop's screen if I sit in the sun, and so no work gets done.

Decision: Patio. After all, eventually the sun went go down, and then I did work. Really.

9. Saw an a cappella concert.

10. Did applications for summer field schools and next year Study Abroads.

11. Lost my student ID. For the first time this quarter which, considering that I made it to the fourth week, is actually an accomplishment for me. I should just get the damn thing tattooed somewhere.

12. Saw a girl from high school, who talked with me for a while.

13. Did not conquer planet. Maybe next week.

It's better than my weekend. *g*

Sleep; go to work; sleep; write fic; have freak outn following the realisation that final exams are in a fortnight; henceforth, actually (gasp!), STUDY!

Sometimes, I think I set myself up to fail.

All in all, though, your weekend was much better. ^__^

Nah, I don't know- the sleeping part sounds fun. I always wish I could have more of that.

And the not-studying-til-the-day-before thing? I do that ALL. THE. TIME. Gah.

Sounds nice, especially the sunny patio and the concert.

Outside of the dancing, did you like Bride and Prejudice? Are you an Austen fan? I have made up my mind whether to see it or not.

I liked it a lot, but the friend I went to see it with didn't, so it's kind of a toss-up.

Pride and Prejudice is the only Austen book I've read, so I wouldn't call myself a fan of hers, but it was interesting to know what to expect and to watch for what things had carried over to the movie. The plotline was actually retained much more thoroughly than I had expected. It's very shortened of course, and some events are dropped entirely, but it ends up being quite faithful, over all. There were even some lines of dialouge that came straight from the book, although they were modernized a bit.

However, the tone is much more of a silly comedy, which is good if you're looking to laugh, but not so much if you were expecting something serious or deep. And it is a Bollywood movie, so the characters occasionally burst into cheesy songs. I think that not realizing it was going to be a musical was one of the reasons my friend didn't like it- it is strange to see movie stars suddenly start singing when you're not expecting it.
