I actually wrote today! *poses* Over a thousand words so far, and I'm only breaking temporarily. They're just about to start the actual sex, and for some reason this is boring me. But writing smut is so haaaard. Every word choice suddenly matters so much more. *whines*

Happy again belated, geez, I'm never going to catch up birthday to animadri!

And there's now a Muraki plushie up on ebay. A Muraki plushie with KITTEN EARS.

I'm so glad that's not just me. Smut IS hard ,and it takes so much longer, and the most ordinary sentences suddenly seem so ludicrous!

Exactly! It's so easy to make one mistake that messes everything up. And then there's all the considerations of: is this too graphic? too clinical-sounding? did I use that word yet? is this physically possible? how am I going to describe this without sounding utterly cliched?

*sighs over-dramatically and collapses*

But I'm just being excessively lazy, actually, since I'm only rewriting it instead of coming up with it orginally. It ended up coming later in the plot than I thought it would, and some details need to be changed.

Duude, excellent news. I miss Hisoka so much. I tried to write a drabble about him once, but even though I love him to tiny little pieces, I don't seem to get him as well as you do. It's hard to make him 'sweet' without turning everything into a major OOC fest. He's a complicated boy, my squishy. *shameless praises you and encourages you on*

You wouldn't believe how many fics I have on my hard drive that break off just at the beginning of a sex scene! ^^;;

Varied things that cause this:

1) Can't find the right words to capture the scene I have in my mind

2) Hormones short-circuit brain, therefore rendering me incapable of writing anything remotely worth reading

3) Real life chooses that moment to interrupt with something urgent and distinctly unerotic

4) My attention span has died by the time I get to the smut

5) I suddenly start angsting over whether or not the scene in my head is in character for whoever (almost invariably Tsuzuki and Hisoka)

6) The characters then decide they want to angst about things instead of getting on with it

7) I find I can write the emotions but not the smut and end up deleting stuff

8) I find I can write the smut but it ends up devoid of emotion so I delete it

etc

Look forward to reading the fic when it's done, anyway!!

*laughs* Wow. That is a big list of reasons. I find my main excuse for not writing isn't anything more than laziness.
