So, I was talking a while ago to [livejournal.com profile] dhampyresa about what Shaw's accent sounds like, and I offered to upload myself reading a passage so I could an imitation of him. I thought I'd put it up here in a new post, in case anyone else is also curious. I'm not claiming to be an expert on Appalachian accents (and let's not even discuss my Latin pronunciation at the end; all I can say is that I know nothing about Latin) or that this is definitively the way he should sound, but I thought it would be fun to do. And if anyone else wants to do their own version of Shaw– or any other character– I would be really interested in hearing it!

My reading from Sold Down the River - Chapter Two.

Thank you so much! I haven't listened to it yet, but I will, as soon as I can.

No worries! It certainly took me long enough to find time to record it. :)
