Interesting Things Which I Have Seen
Jun. 24th, 2009 03:52 pmYou Can't Please Everyone - blog. A listing of bad reviews of things which are generally acknowledged to be awesome. My favorite, from a review of Spinal Tap: "Okay, seriously, who the heck are these Spinal Tap fellas? I’m an expert on music (I studied the art form for four years, know every artist of the last 40 years, and scored an A+ on my math test... which really doesn’t have anything to do with music, but it shows you that I am intellegent), and have never heard of these guys before."
ugly_crap - blog. "The Ugliest Products in the Universe". Hilarious. I particularly like this disco toilet.
Bloodchild - YouTube video. Octavia Butler's short story Bloochild as reenacted by fruit. Completely awesome.
A 16-year-old discovers a microbe that disintegrates plastic bags - news story. I was not that motivated when I was 16.
Okinawa Soba's Flickr photostream - photographs of Japan in late 1800s and early 1900s. Really lovely.
The Incredible Century Old Colored Photography of Prokudin-Gorsky - news story. Lovely color photos of Russia in the early 1900s.
The Last Airbender Trailer - video. Even without all the serious race issues, this trailer kinda sucks.
A researcher is studying butch/femme identities - survey. If you identify as lesbian or as a bi woman, some questions to take.
