The class that I am sitting in right now seems to involve using as many multisyllabic buzz words as possible to say the smallest, simplest ideas possible.

Ugh. That sounds like mine obligatory "humanism-inducing" course we had to get every year at uni (you know, industrial designers, probably never in their life read even newspaper's funnies section, let's make them take high-school level philosophy/sociology classes disguised as something more! Let's watch them writhe in pain!). At least it's easy to pass?
My sympathies and hopes that it will pass quickly.

I suspect the point is to use as many multisyllabic buzz words as possible to disguise A)the fact that you have nothing to say; or B)the fact that what you have to say is not worth saying.:-(

The downside of academia: the willful obsfucation of perfectly good English words.

So off topic it's crack!

Yeah, it seems to be a very common trait throughout all humanities/social sciences, alas.
It's probably about half-way over by now!
