brigdhI was planning to go see King Kong tonight, but people have flaked out on me, and now I am at home and bored with nothing to do besides writing that essay that I really should have finished two weeks ago.

yuletide story I wrote, but the sad truth is that I did not write one this year. I signed up, but it turned out that the only thing that would have enabled me to write a story this month was direct divine intervention. Fortunately, I realized this problem in time to get word to the organizers, so my assignment still got a story (I was so nervous about abandoning her that I actually checked her story before I read my own), but I feel bad regardless.
Uh. You can read the story I got, though, which is lovely and wonderful! In Among These Woods, with Modred and Lancelot and self-fulfilling prophecies and mysterious events in a forest. I adore it.
Anyway, meme. Ganked from everyone:
If you could fix me up with any fictional character, who would it be and why?
But also:
Give me a character/pairing from one of my fandoms and a word or a theme and I'll write you one line.
Because I would do the drabble request meme, but that always takes me weeks to finish, and I just want to amuse myself for a few hours.
I'd also do the "Give me a fandom and I'll tell you what character I love/hate/want to slap" meme, but I have, like, two fandoms, so I'm not sure how amusing that would be. If you want to ask anyway, go ahead.

I'm thinking about the fictional character I'd set you up with meme. It's difficult, though: there just aren't as many interesting female characters to choose from as there are male, so that the straight girls have a big unfair advantage when it comes to the virtual dating pool. I might set you up with Riza Hawkeye, because I think you'd enjoy her sense of humor, but I'm not entirely sure she's available.

Heh. You know, strangely, I hadn't even thought of that. Given that all the options are already fictional, and most are either two-dimensional or text-based, gender seems like such a small obstacle.
But you remind me that I need to start watching FMA again, now that I have a bit more time. I'd gotten up to episode 9, and it is really fascinating. Thank you again for sending it to me.

In a few days instead of now, is all, because I practically have to hack at people with machetes to get any time to work on it. Whether you'll still be enthusiastic about it when its manifest inadequacies are revealed is another issue, of course; but in the meantime, it's awfully encouraging.

Sanzo had locked himself in his room and said that if Goku knocked one more time, he wouldn't get to eat for a week (which was totally a bluff, because even Sanzo wasn't that mean. Probably), and it was too rainy and cold to go outside, and Hakkai was laughing in a weird way, even for him, and staring at the windows and his hands, and *that* meant Gojyo was pouting, and since everyone was moody and it was such a horribly, terribly boring night, Goku didn't see any reason *not* to steal a magazine from Gojyo's bag, the one that he was always telling people he just bought for the articles.
