There's one of those digital signs a few blocks from my house, the ones that flash the time and temperature and occasional cheery messages from the owner. When I drove by it a few minutes ago, it was reading 111 degrees.
I'm fairly certain it's not completely accurate, but damn. That is *hot*.
I took the GRE this morning, which went well. I much, much prefer it to the SATs and ACTs and all those other standardized tests schools delight in assigning, because you get your scores immediately. None of that waiting around for a few months for them to mail it to you. That's the sort of instant gratification I like.
Randomly, I did better on the math section than the verbal, which is a bizarre turn of events. I hate math. I haven't taken any form of it since high school, while words? Writing? Vocabulary? Are things I do every day.
Anyway, now I can relax (ha) and write my yaoi_challenge story. Except for the fact that I'll be at an amusement park all day tomorrow. But I'm sure I'll still have it done by, um, Friday. Whoops.
In a wild attempt to keep this post from being entirely meaningless, I'll put up links for the last several wallpapers I've made, since I've been forgetting to update with them here:
Nataku (Vaguely spoilery for the end of the first volume of Gaiden. This one won its challenge, though I like the Gojyo, from the same week, better)
Ripley from The Talented Mr. Ripley
Delerium from The Sandman
Sanzo
Someone needs to choose cute and fluffy lyrics for a challenge. I've been waiting to make a Koumyou wallpaper, because I love him and want to be him when I grow up and have the perfect picture, but none of the lyrics so far have fit him. Also, I have the most adorable, sweetest, awwwwwwwwww-inducing Konzen+Goku image, but everything's been too angsty to go with it. These are my traumas of the moment.

Date: 2005-08-02 03:01 pm (UTC)I started mine after the challenges went up, got about half way through, and haven't touched it since I went on vacation with my family in the beginning of July.
I was going to be so good and have it done ahead of time so I could give it to my betas and relax and revise. Whoops.
Where did July go again?

Date: 2005-08-03 08:28 pm (UTC)And yeah, you get your scores right away. It works that way since it's on a computer: as soon as you finish the answering the questions, it's like "Would you like to see your results?" Very convinent. ^^

Date: 2005-08-04 03:08 am (UTC)P.S. I saw The Island. ...I HATE YOU. WHY OH WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BE SO /LOGICAL/ ALL THE TIME?? Grrr.
But really, it was so bad, my brain actually /did/ start to melt out my ears. It might have stained my shirt, too. :P Such a great Mystery Science Theater 3000 movie. :D

Ah, Skeleton Key. New Orleans, swamps, voodoo, and cheesy horror. IT IS LIKE EVERY STORY KINK I HAVE ROLLED INTO ONE BAD MOVIE. I want it so badly.
