Owwwwwwww.

I managed to bang my arm really hard againt the metal knob in the shower today. The slightly pointy edge went right into my elbow, straight between the two bones. And now my whole arm twinges everytime I move it. >.<

And I didn't even get a cool bruise. It looks perfectly fine.

But in other, more random news: the new Nickelback song is incredibly kinky. I am surprised. They were just supposed to be the angry-angsty boy group!

Also, I should not be allowed to go into bookstores with money. I bought three books this weekend: American Psycho and Less Than Zero by Bret Easton Ellis, and Hagakure: The Book of the Samurai by Yamamoto Tsunetomo. I blame the last one on Hisoka, and [livejournal.com profile] minakochan, for pointing it out to me. Because, of course, then I had to buy it. All this and I only meant to check to see if they had Gravitation 4 (which they did not, the bastards).

But I needed more books, really! It's not like I still have a huge pile of ones I got for Christmas that I've not yet read! ^^;;

Aaaaand that's all I have to say. La la la. For I am bored.

Hope your arm feels better soon, and...

*pounces*

You said the magic words - Bret Easton Ellis, Less Than Zero and American Psycho! ^_^ Less Than Zero is the book which my journal is named after!!

Hee, cool!

I guess I'll take that as a good recommendation, then. I'd never heard of it until a week ago, and I just decided to buy it on a whim. ^^

Be warned about American Psycho, though - this probably goes without saying, but it swings from near mind-numbing tedium of the minutiae of Patrick Bateman's existence (this is deliberate on the part of the author) to the most graphically unpleasant scenes I've ever read. It's very thought-provoking, but it isn't an easy read. ^^;;

*nods* Oh, yes, I'm well aware of the graphic-ness of American Psycho, no worries. I'm sure it won't bother me- I'm a friend to the horror. I've seen 'Silence of the Lambs' so many times I have the entire thing memorized, and it used to be my favorite movie. When I was a sophmore in high school.

*grins* I was an evil child.

I'm nearly done with 'Less Than Zero' now, though. It's pretty good, but if you don't mind me asking, what was it about the book that inspiried you to name your LJ after it?

I guess I named my journal after the book for numerous reasons - firstly, it's one of my favourite books; secondly, the concept of "Less Than Zero" in terms of the book interested me - the alienation and nihilsm of the teenagers it was about; thirdly, "Less Than Zero" in itself is a sufficiently vague concept when not in the context of the book that it can have various shades of meaning, hence it made a suitable journal title.
