Happy Mardi Gras!
Since flinging beads and sharing King Cake is much less satisfying virtually, how about a meme?
1. Comment with any character you know I've written.
2. Receive three bits of trivia about their sexuality: practices, preferences, experiences, fantasies, kinks, etc.
3. Profit!

Hannibal:
1. Reeeeeeeeally into giving oral. Despite it being a bit out of the mainstream for 1830s sexual practices. Really.
2. Although he's pretty much willing to do anything the person he's with is into, he does not actually enjoy bondage, having been tied up/handcuffed/shackled for real a few too many times.
3. Doesn't do monogamy well, mostly because he's afraid to make that serious of a commitment. He doesn't want anyone to rely on him alone, because he thinks he is sure to fail them. But if they're sleeping with other people, it feels safer- he's not the only one who will be there for his partner. But also flirting is 95% of how he relates to people and sex is just another way of having fun with someone, so to him sleeping with Person A has nothing to do with how much he loves Person B.

1. She was actually fairly good friends with Mathieu before he raped her. They were neighbors, there weren't that many people of the same age around... they'd grown up playing together. They'd even played at kissing together, though she was never interested in marrying him. Part of the reason she has so much trouble trusting is that she trusted him.
2. She had a fairly long-lasting relationship with one of the other female students when she went away to school, though it was never very deep emotionally. The other girl was white and well-off, and they didn't understand one another on a number of levels, but she was also smart, and kind enough, and very dedicated to her work. For a time that was all Rose wanted- just to learn, to work, and to have someone to share a house and take care of the physical necessities with. She broke it off when she started to want to more of a connection with the world, and made the decision to come back to New Orleans specifically to start a school for black girls.
3. Is somewhat into voyeurism. Sometimes she just wants to watch and not have to be directly involved.
Ben:
1. Does not really do casual sex. He feels a lot of emotional commitment to anyone he sleeps with, and remains invested in their well-being even after the relationship ends. One of those people who is still close friends with all of his exes.
2. Only mostly straight in feelings, but nearly entirely straight in practice. Partly because he's personally invested in being a Proper Respectable Gentleman, partly because he wants his relationships to be open and official and celebrated by everyone around him, and partly because he really wants children and a big family.
3. Is as into cuddling, talking in the dark, sharing a bed, eating breakfast together, and all the other non-sexual parts of sleeping together as he is into the sex itself.

1. Was very sexually open and experimental, and had no shame about her body or her desires. Was a bit hedonistic, in that she very much enjoyed her pleasures.
2. Her first relationship was with the French soldier she ran away from Morocco with, and that was a fairly traumatizing relationship in a lot of ways. But it also helped her learn to believe in her own strength and confidence.
3. I'm not sure if chocolate sauce and whipped cream existed yet, but if they did, she very liked to lick them off her partners.
Consuela
1. Mostly uses sex as way of getting money, roles, status, etc, and isn't particularly bothered by those sorts of transactional relationships. However, occasionally she indulges herself with a relationship that's just about what she wants, and that's what she had with Hannibal.
2. Is always the one in control in the bedroom, even if the other person isn't aware of it. She's very good at manipulating people, and is perfectly capable of appearing to be the adoring ingenue while getting her partner to do exactly what she wants.
3. Was definitely the one who initiated the relationship with Hannibal, and all but threw him over her shoulder and carried him off to her hotel room. (Not that he had any objections, of course.) She's good at what she does and appreciated his own musical talent, but also liked that he treated her with the respect a mixed-race opera singer doesn't often receive.

Consuela throwing Hannibal over her shoulder and carrying him off is the best mental image.

1. The first time they almost had sex, Alec offered to sleep with Richard in exchange for a place to stay and dinner. Richard refused, Alec took offense at that, and they both spent the next few weeks feeling awkward and vaguely dissatisfied.
2. Alec had had a fairly vast amount of experience with sex but relatively little with relationships, so figuring out how to treat someone when you actually intend to continue interacting with them took a while. It tending to involve a lot of leaving immediately after sex and not returning for days, or deliberately trying to find and then break boundaries.
3. The thing that most surprised him about Richard was Richard's refusal to take advantage of how Alec deliberately made himself vulnerable.
After Richard leaves:
1. Alec never entirely stopped having sex with other people; it's just that he preferred Richard. When Richard isn't there, this is still true.
2. The drugs are more effective at forgetting Richard. Hurting other people, though– that convinces him he doesn't deserve Richard, and it lasts much longer.
3. But he won't hurt people who are entirely defenseless, which is why his relationship with the Black Rose lasts for so long. She grew up in Riverside, and knows his tricks already.

1. Henri isn't the only man she's ever slept with. But a) it was only the one time, b) it was mostly an experiment, and c) no one knows except for her and him.
2. Livia's version of the sex talk was fairly terrifying, and Minou dreaded losing her virginity to the point of having nightmares. But it turned out to be not as bad as she was expecting, and now she rather enjoys sex.
3. Is really into roleplaying Romance Novel-type scenarios: she's a kidnapped princess! She's a poor orphan girl falsely accused! She's a cross-dressing highway robber!
Chloe:
1. Has not yet slept with Henri. She knows she'll have to do so eventually, if just for the sake of an heir, but is putting it off for a few years. (Henri is fairly confused and dismayed by this, but is too timid to push her on the issue.)
2. Sees sex and power as messily and unappealingly intertwined, ever since her father slept with the nurse who abused her. Sleeping with someone is either giving them power over you or taking power over them, and equality and openness has little to do with it.
3. Was very jealous of Artois, who had so much more freedom and was so much more open and happy than her. Sometimes fantasized about switching places with him, wearing boys' clothes and cutting her hair short and flirting with girls.
(Am jumping around doing these, will come back for the Mayerlings!)

1. Augustus was very nearly virginal at the beginning of his relationship with Madeleine, having been uninterested when young and not having had much opportunity since he started living as a man. Madeleine had more experience (obviously), but most of it was unpleasant and included very little outside of lying still. They've done a lot of experimenting and exploring together.
2. Both thought they were more attracted to men before this relationship, but are really, really into what they've discovered and wouldn't go back. (Not that they're planning to break up, but yanno.)
3. Are eventually planning to adopt some young relative of Madeleine's to raise and name as their heir. Probably more than one. But they're enjoying the honeymoon period for a little longer first.

Bard? And in case you have any Musketeers headcanon, Porthos?
no subject
Porthos:
1. Is about 95% straight, but wouldn't say no to a pretty face of any gender.
2. Likes a partner who can challenge him, whether that's in a fight, in conversation, or just in cards.
3. Had some bad experiences when he was living on the streets as a child, but honestly no longer thinks about them much. However, he does have more respect for sex workers and the choices they make (or the choices that aren't available to them) than most people around him.

I don't think I remember enough about Inda to do him. I need to reread those books...
Tsuzuki
1. Has fallen in love with everyone he's ever slept with. This usually doesn't end well.
2. Has a lot of fantasies that involve him being overwhelmed or dominated in some way, because then whatever happens is not his fault.
3. Is more attracted to men than to women, though he does enjoy friendly platonic flirting with women. But he tends to slot women he's close to into the you-remind-me-of-my-sister role, and not as romantic partners.
Eliot
1. Is really into partners who are capable of holding their own in a physical fight against him. If they can win, even better. Not that he doesn't like partners with other sorts of skills (intelligence, speed, etc), but there's something about a fight that really gets him.
2. Likes switching in D/s roles. He likes a relationship where it's always a struggle for control, not just easy, and someone who can top him is someone worth topping.
3. Lost his virginity pretty young, but doesn't regret it. It's just been more chances to learn how to get really good at what he does.

Watari Yutaka
I loooooooooooooooooooooooooooove him <3
no subject
Watari is pretty awesome. :D
1. Is interested in making a sex-change potion not because he identifies as female, but because he sees gender as not particularly important and always wants to try new things.
2. Most of his relationships have been more of the friends-with-benefits type than True-Love-soulmates. He spent most of his young adulthood more interested in having fun and enjoying as many people as possible rather than exploring deep emotions.
3. Is pretty into most kinks, and is willing to be either top or bottom. Is probably the most sexually-healthy character of everyone in all these comments, ha.

1. Is not inclined to have sex with anyone he doesn't have a deep emotional connection to. It doesn't have to be love, necessarily, but he doesn't see the point of one-night-stands or sex just for the fun of it.
2. Doesn't much like flirting, innuendos, subtext, and those sorts of things. He wants sex and romance to be clear, straightforward, and simple (as much as that's ever possible).
3. Is a very considerate lover, partly out of a fear of being like Muraki, and partly because being an empath makes it pretty easy to figure out what's working and what isn't. He's sort of gruff about it, but is always very careful of his partner's desires.
Parker:
1. Is more experienced than you'd guess, but it's almost all been brief flings without romance. Hardison is her first real relationship.
2. Likes to get up and have a snack after sex.
3. Is very enthusiastic and constantly interested in trying new positions, kinks, locations, etc.
