Hello, and thank you for offering one of my fandoms! I'm looking forward to whatever you write, and if you want to completely ignore the rest of this letter, or pick and choose just a few things, that's totally fine.

Basics
– I love all ratings, from G to NC-17. A lot of the prompts I give below are focused on ships, but feel free to write me the characters as platonic friends instead if that's what you prefer. Porn is always welcome, but so is gen!
– Feel free to include injury, illness, gore, torture, noncon, major character death, infidelity, racism, homophobia, classism, general dark and depressing tones, bad endings with no hope, rocks fall everyone dies, etc, as needed for your story. You are not required to do so!!! But I'm a big horror fan and mostly requesting horror prompts, so feel free to really put the characters and readers through hell.
– In general, I like pretty much every kind of horror. Psychological horror, cosmic horror, folk horror, paranormal, gothic, dark fantasy, slashers, creepypastas, urban legends, nightmares, possession, deals with the devil (real or metaphorical), serial killers, zombies, vampires, werewolves, demons, spooky incarnations of guilt or fears or lost hopes, characters making and justifying bad decisions, murder couples, cults, weird sex rituals, ancient curses.
– A lot of my requested canons are historical fiction. I DO NOT require you to have done research to write them. Trust me, I won't care if you use a modern word or describe the wrong style of clothing. I'm not an expert either.
– Unusual stylistic writing choices, like second person POV, a series of linked drabbles, unreliable narrators, five times fic, epistolary, SMAU, mind-fucks where it's unclear what is real, etc, are all totally okay. I enjoy reading experiments!
– AUs are super cool!

This is such a great fandom for horror stories, and there are not nearly enough! :D For this prompt, I'd particularly love if you took advantage of one of the many creepy ocean superstitions that are out there: ghost ships, The Flying Dutchman, the Mary Celeste, the Bermuda Triangle, the kraken (literal), the Loch Ness monster, mermaids, sirens, sea serpents, Atlantis, Davy Jones, ominous albatrosses, etc etc.
I'm leaning towards paranormal horror for this fandom, but there are plenty of real-life ocean horrors that could make for a great story as well: becalmings, hurricanes, marooning on a deserted island, starvation, isolation, disease run rampant in a crowded ship. Non-oceanic horrors are also excellent! Throw them a serial killer to deal with. Vampires, Cthulhu, ghosts of their past sins... really, I would be quite happy with any kind of horror.
AUs are good too! Stede and Ed meet five years into the zombie apocalypse. They're naval explorers on a wintered-over ship in the Arctic (Terror crossover? Though a Franklin-themed AU would be terrifying enough without psychic polar bears!). Space pirates and the unknowable horrors of deep space.
Some suggestions for the lighter side: they host rival cryptid-themed podcasts. Ed is the kind of guy who goes around proving haunted houses are actually just scams or gas leaks; Stede owns a house that has real ghosts. Infiltrating a fancy costume party.
If we matched on Ed rather than Ed/Stede, I'd particularly love some backstory. We've got years of sailing to fill with bad experiences! :D Was he present at the earthquake in Port Royal? Did he encounter oceanic terrors as a crewman or young captain? If you want to pair Ed with anyone, feel free (OFC, OMC, Calico Jack, Izzy, etc) though I'd like the relationship not to be portrayed as endgame, unless part of the horror is that he and Stede never meet/don't work out.
Benjamin January Mysteries - Barbara Hambly
Ship: Benjamin January/Rose January/Hannibal Sefton (BenJan Mysteries)
I do ship Ben/Rose/Hannibal, but I also like pairing any two of the three, or their relationship as a gen friendship. If you don't want to write about all three, I'm also very interested in backstory about Rose's time at school, or Ben's time in Paris, or basically any backstory about Hannibal.
Another fandom that is such a great fit for paranormal horror! :D We basically already have canonical voodoo magic and ghosts, so please feel free to use either of those, or to bring in some other classic legends. And hey, it's New Orleans! Vampires, witches, loup-garou, the devil at the crossroads... there's so many possibilities! On the mundane side, the books already include serial killers, plagues, torture, Resurrection men, and more, so go ahead and really dig into the horror of any of them.
Other ideas: Frankenstein crossover! Rose becomes aware that certain specific body-parts are going missing... How will they solve this case? One of Olympe's spells has gone wrong, and she needs help to fix things. There's some unknown creature hunting people in the swamps outside the city.
On the lighter side, I'd be ecstatic over just a fluffy fic about the three of these guys attending a Halloween party. I'm pretty sure dressing in costume for Halloween was not a thing in the 1830s, but I'm happy to ignore that if you are! (Or make just make it a Mardi Gras party!) What does each character choose to dress as? What if they magically become their costumes? The three of them sitting around attempting to outdo one another with ghost stories! It's a little early for Spiritualism, but send them to a seance or ectoplasm summoning or mysterious knockings anyway!
Fanart requests: Feel free to use anything above, if you see something inspiring! But I suspect a lot of my fic requests don't translate well to art, so here's some art-specific ideas.
- I would love, love, love a daemon AU. I don't like these as much in fic, since they don't seem to lend themselves to plot, but I adore them in art. I really want to see what animals you think the different characters would have as daemons!
– Modern AU! Zombie hunters AU!
– Hair kink! Both Rose and Hannibal have long hair, so I'd love to see art about other characters generally doing things with it: combing, braiding, washing, putting it up, taking it down, etc.
– Honestly there's so little fanart for this fandom that I would love ANYTHING.

I love both of these ideas so much. I don't need the fic to be shippy, but feel free to go there if that's what you're interested in!
For the kitsune prompt: I love the idea that kitsune aren't concerned with human morality, so their attention may or may not be a good thing for the human. And if it's not, what can the human do about it? Does the reincarnation know they're dealing with a kitsune, and how do they find out? Did the kitsune love or admire the previous incarnation, or do they feel resentful for owing them a favor? Who do they prefer – the previous incarnation or the current one? I usually think of kitsune in historical settings, but if you want to do something with how they've adapted to the modern world, that would be awesome!
For the ship prompt: I would love this with any kind of ship! Age of sail ship being stalked by a creature that came out of that box of Transylvanian dirt? Yes. Modern cargo ship being stalked by a serial killer? Yes. Spaceship being stalked by shape-shifting alien? Yes. Do all of the crew die? Does one survive because the creature has become fond of him/her while spying on the crew, or because they need someone who understands how to steer the ship, or for some more nefarious reason? Something meta, like entries from the ship's log slowly becoming more paranoid and erratic, or the POV of the salvage crew who finds the empty (OR IS IT???) ship drifting alone, would also be great.
