Watching Mon- Tuesday

Parks & Rec:
5.16-5.22: Oh my GOD, everyone is having babies. I guess that makes for some nice thematic parallels, but seriously? I particularly loved the episodes about the video store bailout and living in the historical house, but all of this season was really strong. I'm going to be caught up so soon, and then I will have no more to watch!

Sleepy Hollow:
2.01-02
OMG NAKED BEN FRANKLIN. This show is crazy and I love it.
I liked the extended... hallucination? Mind-fuck? at the beginning, even though I was never actually afraid that the show had killed off Jenny or Katrina. The patriotic cupcake and weird Hannibal Lecter-esque prison for Henry were both fantastic elements. And Abbie beheading the fake Ichabod because of the pronunciation of Lieutenant! This show is really like the best sort of iddy fanfic.
And so many hugs! Ichabod and Abbie hug! Abbie and Jenny hug!
The episode had a little too much "hey, remember when this thing happened last season?" for me, but overall it was a great opener.

Last night's episode I loved even more. Ichabod snarking at the poor bank-teller! The references to Lovecraft! The three-way creepy monster fight! BEN FRANKLIN WINKING AT KATRINA OMG WTF LOVE IT. I liked the elements of future trouble too: the new sheriff, poor Jenny back in jail, and Irving SIGNING HIS NAME IN BLOOD (oh, show! Wonderfully ridiculous). I think the whole 'Katrina as a mole' thing could be a really interesting development, and I'm looking forward to her finally getting more of a characterization.

Sleepy Hollow was great! I cackled so hard at "what is not dead that can eternally lie and in strange aeons even death may die". Lovecraft is Biblical apocrypha now!

Yes! I wonder if that was just meant to be a one-off joke, or if they'll do more with it. I would love to see Cthulhu show up!

I'm loving Sleepy Hollow. So so silly and just fun from beginning to end.

Yes! I love how un-serious it is, while still giving a lot of weight to the emotions of the characters.
