Blood and destruction is for every-day, for the affront given by windowpanes and unruly fist-fights, but getting Richard to hold any of his blades against Alec's skin... that's for very special occasions.

It may be that my Richard is particularly difficult about being talked into forms of Alec's destruction involving bladed weapons, or blood, and that so often Alec attempts to destroy himself are singularly by himself and Richard's part is only the bandages.
